Best and Worst - Lips

This really seems like I'm copying Fleur with the 'best and worst' but I really liked the idea. I've tried quite a lot of lip products, and some have been a lot more successful than others. I like drugstore brands' version of most products, but lipsticks/crayons/glosses etc are something I'm really fussy with and high end brands usually seem to be the answer for me. But this is my personal opinion based on which products suit me, and I'm sure a lot of them will suit other people more than they suit me. It's probably a good idea to start with the worst and finish with the best so this post ends on a good note.

17 Lip Crayons - Twinkle Toes, Pink Ice, Very Berry, Dolly Bird
These could have been really good, but they're let down by the colours and the fact that they aren't very handy for wearing all day. The only colour I'd wear would be the red, as the bright pink is way too bright for me, the pale pink makes me look seriously ill and I'm not really sure what's going on with the gold. However they might suit other people, so I can't base it solely on the colours. The worst thing about them is the texture. When you first put them on your lips, they're really crumbly and you lose a lot just by trying to put them on, but they look quite nice on your lips. But I found that after wearing them for a few hours, they seemed to stick into the cracks of my lips and pretty much crumble off my lips. So I really wouldn't recommend these at all.

Rimmel 1000 Kisses - Carry on Cherry
Max Factor Lipfinity - Shade 04
I'm reviewing both of these at the same time because they're basically the same product. They're very similar shades and have exactly the same effect, which isn't very good. For a start, the whole concept of a lip tint makes my lips look like they're bleeding, which isn't a nice look to begin with. Also, the colour seems to gradually smudge as it fades, so even if you've eaten or have been talking for a while, it'll all go to the edge of your lips and look really smudged. I've heard some people say they really like them though.

Rimmel lasting finish by Kate - Rossetto
I have to really ignore the colour of this because I got it for halloween last year. I've heard a lot of people say that they love these, but I really really didn't like it. I would probably have liked it a bit more if it were in a more wearable colour, but when applying it, it feels like you're rubbing a crayon (like a real crayon, not a lip crayon) onto your lips, and it really drags when you try to apply it to the shape of your lips.

Laura Geller Color Drenched Lip Gloss
If there's one beauty related thing that I absolutely hate, it's lip gloss. I hate the look and feel of it and it really doesn't suit me at all. So bearing that in mind, this is really really good. My mum gave it to me when she got it in a kit, the colour is a bit too orange for me but it's a lot less sticky than most lip glosses and I was really pleasantly surprised by it.

Clinique Chubby Stick - Woppin' Watermelon
This isn't very pigmented at all, but I really like it. It's really moisturizing and it made my lips look and feel a lot nicer.

 Clinique Lipstick - Cranberry Cream
I love this lipstick so much. It has the nicest texture ever and even though it's such a dark red I feel like it's actually quite natural in comparison to a lot of other red lipsticks. I use a brush to apply it to my top lip because it's really hard to apply it to the shape of your lips directly from the tube, but I really love it.

Laura Geller Lipstick - Rosato
I got this a few weeks ago and it's definitely one of my favourite lipsticks. It's really dark but really easy to apply without a brush. It has hints of purple but it doesn't make me look unhealthy like the Rimmel one did. I also really love that it says 'Love Laura' on it.

Clinique Lipstick - Extreme Pink
When it comes to lipstick I usually really hate bright pink and how it looks on me. But this is bright without being too bright, if that makes sense, and it's so easy to apply quickly.

Clinique Lipstick - Rosette
This is my favourite lipstick ever. It's such a lovely coral/red colour and like Extreme Pink, it's so easy to apply quickly. I don't have much left so I'm definitely going to replace it because it's amazing.

I also have another Clinique lipstick which I can't find or remember the name of, but I love that too. I'd definitely recommend Clinique over any other lipstick brand, or any other makeup brand overall. Also, notice the lack of MAC and Topshop lipsticks, which are probably the most popular right now? Hopefully that will change next week when I go to London and spend all of the money I've ever owned in Topshop, but it'll be worth it.
